Introduction to Tang Soo Do Karate, Get a head start on your Karate training by learning basic blocks, strikes, kicks, and stances.

Have you ever wanted to learn martial arts but wondered if Tang Soo Do or Karate was right for you?  Well, then you are in luck!  This short introductory course will give you a taste of a typical Tang Soo Do Karate class by teaching you the basic class structure and commands as well as the stances, strikes, blocks, and kicks you can expect to learn in your first few weeks of training.  This course is a great way to get the ball rolling whether you are taking more online karate courses or are preparing to start live in-person training a karate studio.  You will also get introduced to the exercises that help martial artists get more flexible, stronger, and have better endurance.  Lastly, this course will get you started on learning the first form in Tang Soo Do Karate.  The best part?  It’s completely free!  No prior experience in martial arts or fitness required.  No training partner needed.  The only thing you need is an open workout space free from distractions.

This 50 minutes class will give you an introduction to Tang Soo Do Karate by teaching you the basic class structure, warmup, hand/kick techniques, stances, and forms.  After taking this short course the student should have the confidence to start a full beginner course whether via video or live in-person.

Course is taught by Master Steven Elmore, 5th Dan in Tang Soo Do who has taught several Regional and World Champion Tang Soo Do fighters.  Master Elmore is not the most gifted athlete but has had success in sparring competition both as a competitor and a coach using the methods outlined in this course.
